Cape Town, South Africa- day 2:
19th Feb, 2011 - 10am
I experienced heaven on earth today. We stepped out of our room to greet Cape Town. As always, starts with a good hearty breakfast topped with good coffee.
We were recommended to try out a German bakery opposite Long Street.
It was delightful.
When we saw the menu our hearts glowed and opted for the continental breakfast with coffee. The waiter gave us a funky beeper tool to carry with us and apparently it beeps when the food is ready. We'll need to pick up our meal at the counter when that happens. (KL we need one of these)
Chose a good spot outside, we went al-fresco.
Once we picked our spot and raised our head to enjoy the view... our hearts and eyes sparkled when we saw the cloud capped Table Mountain waving to us.
Our eyes couldn't believe our sight.
The clouds were so clumpy and danced around the mountain tip gracefully. Why this happens and why this mountain is unlike any other mountain? Will tell you more when I visit the mountain soon.
Beep..beep... ohh time to pick up our breakfast.
It came complete with egg scrambled wrapped in warm croissant and coffee. Yippie!
The meal was delicious and view was marvellous.
For a moment, Paul reminded be of how much time has changed since the Apartheid when we were served by the Native Africans (the blacks). In the 60's (If I recall correctly).. it wasn't possible for the Native Africans to be in such close civilised contacts with the whites.
Today, we got a glimpse of how the whites and blacks mingle in a safe environment respectfully.
Thank you Table Mountain for gracing our table with your presence!
Love,
Dutch+Malaysian in Cape Town.
Enjoy my dears!!
